Q: When do I have to pay for my order?
How long do I have to pay for my order?

A: Thank you for your question. We expect payment in a timely manner - up to five days after you pop your order through is AOK with us. If you need longer we are amenable to this, too - we just need to know your payment ETA...

Q: FABRIC CONDITION - new or used?
Are your fabrics new unused fabrics or have they been upcycled?

A: Unless stated, our fabrics are new unused, original vintage fabrics. We don't like to wash them - as usually the yardage doesn't fit in any washing machine and a lot of crafters like to receive their fabrics in original condition with its original hand. That being said, the fabrics have been stored by up to 60 years so some of it has very minor storage marks. If there are other marks such as rust etc we mention this in the listing. If the fabric has been used we always state this.

    Q: OPENING HOURS
Hello - just wondering if you're a Monday to Friday business or you guys can answer queries anytime.

A: We are really only a 9am to 1pm business, Monday to Friday. That being said we are off at auction quite a bit - or viewing fabrics etc. So you may hear from us at 8am in the morning or 11pm at night. We like to keep on top of things so you'll hear from us as quickly as we can get to you - and that's usually pretty quickly!

We try to keep the business seperate from our personal lives so we don't respons to sales, nor queries, over the weekend...but you'll hear from us on Monday morning, bright and early :)

    Q: Location
Hello - you have wonderful fabrics. Where are you located in Victoria? Do you have a street store? I would like to see your fabrics.

A: We're glad you like the fabrics. At this stage we are an online business as we like to keep our prices as low as possible - having a store with overheads would mean we'd have to increase them! That being said we're always on the lookout for a small showroom - so, if we ever find one, we'll be sure to let you know!

If we can (ie - if the bolt is long enough) we send people samples via the mail - other than that we are not insured for customers to view the fabrics here, so no lookee unfortunately :(

    Q: Fabric sizes
Hi - can you please explain the fabric sizes to me, please? I have no idea about fat quarters, half yards etc...

A: This website caters to the needs of our worldwide customers - and most of our customers are based in the US. You will notice we us imperial terminology but we cut in metric measurements.

    A yard of fabric:
A true yard of fabric is 92cm long, but we always round it up to 100cm (one metre). The width of the fabric varies.

    A half yard of fabric:
A half yard is basically half the length of a yard - so 46cm. However, we mainly sell these at 50cm in length (half a meter).

    A fat quarter:
A fat quarter is half of a half yard (or a quarter of a full yard). The yard is cut in half and then the fat quarter is cut on the vertical, so you get a good sized squarish piece of fabric. The width obviously depends on the original width of the fabric.

    Pattern Repeats:
If the fabric has a large scale pattern we like to sell it by pattern repeat - which means you get a full repeat of the original fabric design.

Q: Uncut fabric - wider or longer?
What does 'uncut' mean - and, if I buy more than one quantity, will the fabric arrive wider or longer or both?

A: This is a good question, as not everyone has bought fabric before!

Fabric is always purchased by the length as the width is already set in stone - ie. it has been manufactured to one set width only and you need to sew seperate pieces together to make it wider.

Therefore, if you purchase multiple quantities of a fabric it will be longer and not wider. We always leave the cutting to you, too - to all multiple fabric purchases are sent uncut...

Q: Keeping an eye on new arrivals...
Hi - I love looking at your new fabrics you put on ebay and now here. How do I keep at eye on them here? Cheers...

A: We have popped a New Arrivals link on our left navigation bar. This will display the new arrivals for the past two days - an easy way to keep up to date and a great way to see new stock...

    Cheers
    Vanessa

Q: Multiple purchases of the same fabric...
Do you cut multiple purchases of the same fabric? I want a long length of one fabric...

A: If you buy multiple quantities of the same fabric it will be sent to you uncut - in one piece. This enables you to use it for the specific project you have in mind and to cut it to your personal requirements.
